Surfing in Guam

Continuing with a theme of connecting politics and surfing, a story in The Atlantic about surfers in Guam. Already concerned about how crowded their breaks are, the population of the island is supposed to grow 15 to 30 percent in the next five years as the military invests $15 billion to expand the military base there. Surfers can be notoriously territorial, but I wouldn’t be worried about people so much as the destruction of what looks to be a nice surf spot.
