Everybody knows the story of the first computer and how it shorted out. They opened it up and found an insect inside in and that is why computer glitches are now called bugs. What if it wasn’t a bug. What if it was a mouse? Would glitches be called rats. “Oh yeah, I was just coding and I found a whole bunch of rats in my program.” Some other ones I’ve thought about:
- Bomb – Even though that would make a little sense.
- Clock
- Piece of paper
- Peanut
- Crumb
- Cheese – That would be cool becase then we could have different kinds of cheeses for different kinds of errors ( i.e. Swiss cheese for a security hole ).
Most of these are pretty unorthodox (if I spelled the word correctly), but hey, it could happen. They did find a bug in the computer.
